About Dr. Brink
Dr. Justin P. Brink, D.C., ACRB III, CCSP, CES/PES
Dr. Brink completed his undergraduate studies at California State University, Sacramento, where he earned a bachelor's degree in biology. Originally on the post-graduate academic route towards dentistry, Dr. Brink was motivated by the self-healing power of the human body after suffering a severe strain in his low back while playing water polo. Resting and stretching didn't do anything to resolve the pain or condition. A family friend who was a chiropractor treated his back. After one treatment his low back pain was gone. Chiropractic became the path Dr. Brink wanted to pursue. He then went on to complete is doctorate at Palmer College of Chiropractic West.
While in school, Dr. Brink completed the Certified Chiropractic Extremity Practitioner (CCEP) program taught by Dr. Kevin Hearon of Idaho, the foremost leader in chiropractic extremity diagnosis, technique and management, and he became LEVEL 2 Certified in Graston Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization Technique®, a system that incorporates patented tools to effectively treat areas exhibiting soft tissue fibrosis and chronic inflammation. In addition to the chiropractic and sports specific trainings and certifications, Dr. Brink became Full Body Certified in Active Release Techniques® (ART®), a complete soft tissue injury management system developed and taught by Dr. Mike Leahy of Colorado Springs.
Dr. Brink's passion for sports and their related injuries, as well as his personal experience with an ACL, MCL, and meniscus injury, inspired his pursuit of post-doctorate level courses. He is a Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner (CCSP) by the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians (ACBSP). This certification specializes in the on-field management of athletes of all levels and disciplines. Dr. Brink also is a certified Corrective Exercise and Performance Enhancement Specialist through National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). Most recently, in 2010, Dr. Brink completed a 300-hour course through the University of Bridgeport, which provided training in the latest treatments as well as evidence-based rehabilitation techniques.
He is also certified with HansOn Muscle Therapy (HMT). HMT is an advanced manual technique using trigger and acupressure points for immediate relief of muscular pain, tension and dysfunction. It is a diversified system integrating feedback from postural evaluation, range of motion assessment and specific muscle testing to pinpoint areas of myofascial tension.
One of Dr. Brink's first chiropractic jobs gave him the opportunity to treat UFC®, Strikeforce™( MMA fighters), professional triathletes and Olympic medalists and he continues to treat many of these athletes.
Dr. Brink currently resides in Morgan Hill, CA, with his family. He was an All-American waterpolo player in college, and still loves to play when time permits. He enjoys most outdoor activities anytime of the year.

About Dr. Gary Nolan
Dr. Gary developed an interest in natural healthcare at an early age. He began suffering from weekly migraine headaches in elementary school. His migraines took him away from school and dramatically restricted his life. He sought traditional treatment with numerous doctors and even more medications, all of which proved ineffective. Then, at the age of 13, after suffering from migraines for 4 years, he discovered chiropractic – rather, his mother did! Dr. Gary no longer suffers from chronic migraines.
Dr. Gary was raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor of science in biology. He went on to earn his Doctorate degree in Chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic – West in 2006. After graduation, Dr. Gary moved back to his hometown where he worked at Care Chiropractic Center in Pittsburgh. However, he missed the beautiful weather and outdoor fun of Sunny California, and returned to the Bay Area, working at Family Life Chiropractic in San Jose. After three years of working as an associate, Dr. Gary was ready to venture out on his own. He is excited to join Premiere Spine and Sport.
Dr. Gary regularly attends post-graduate education courses including his recent certification in a three-part series on Pettibon Spinal Biomechanics. He continues to educate himself on the most advanced concepts in Chiropractic and Rehabilitation to provide his patients with the best care available.
Dr. Gary specializes in the Diversified technique, soft tissue therapy, and wellness care for all ages. When not hard at work, Dr. Gary loves to spend time outdoors. He enjoys hiking in the hills surrounding San Jose, camping and kayaking in Santa Cruz and Moss Landing. Recently, Dr. Gary has picked up running and hopes to complete his first marathon within the next year.

About Dr. Chris Baker
Dr. Baker graduated Magna Cum Laude from Palmer College of Chiropractic West in San Jose in December of 2011. Prior to completing his doctorate he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biology and Psychology from Grove City College in Pennsylvania in May of 2008, with plans to become a Forensic Psychologist. However, during his junior year, a series of chiropractic treatments following a collegiate tennis tournament changed his perspective on healthcare delivery which ultimately influenced a change in his career choice.
The chiropractic profession gives doctors the knowledge to use their hands to naturally restore balance to the human body. This seemed like a skill worth developing and one that the self-proclaimed "hand-eye coordination extraordinaire" would be able to master. Days after receiving his first treatment he was enrolled at Palmer West in San Jose, CA because of the fantastic year-round outdoor tennis weather in California and because the school has arguably the best Sports Council and evidence-based science curriculum among all chiropractic schools in the country.
Having participated in competitive tennis since the age of five, Dr. Baker has had numerous overuse injuries throughout his career. Previously unaware of the benefits of chiropractic care, Dr. Baker feels compelled to inform the next generation of athletes of what he missed out on throughout his junior development years. Educating athletes on how chiropractic care facilitates the healing and recovery process and what athletes can do proactively to prevent injuries from occurring in the first place is the contemporary model for functional fitness that Dr. Baker fully supports.
Recently, Dr. Baker completed his internship studies at Ultimate Sports Medicine in San Francisco's Marina District under the tutelage of Dr. Lenny Stein. Dr. Stein is currently the team chiropractor for the Golden State Warriors and the San Francisco Ballet Company, and he has treated numerous tennis pros, including: Brad Gilbert, Andre Agassi, Andy Roddick, Martina Navratilova, Andy Murray, and Sabine Lisicki. Dr. Baker gained invaluable experience working at USM - experience he plans to carry on for his patients at Premiere Spine & Sport.
Dr. Baker is a PTR (Professional Tennis Registry) certified tennis teaching professional with seven years of teaching experience. He has taught at Junior Development Programs for RTXtraining, the San Jose Swim and Racquet Club, and the Almaden Country Club in California; the Fox Chase Tennis Club in New Jersey; and the Saucon Valley Country Club in Pennsylvania. He also currently competes in 5.0 flex leagues through UltimateTennis.com just to keep the competitive juices flowing. During undergrad he played Division III collegiate tennis at Grove City College where he was a team captain his junior and senior year, an ITA Scholar Athlete, and a 4-time President's Athletic Conference singles champion and 4-time doubles champion. His extensive background in tennis gives Dr. Baker a unique understanding of tennis performance and injury rehabilitation.
In addition to treating tennis players, Dr. Baker has treated runners, triathletes, volleyball players, and ballet dancers at events including the Kona Ironman World Championships, NorthFace Endurance Challenge, Senior Games at Stanford University, Morgan Hill Sprint Triathlon, Morgan Hill Marathon, Corona Wide Open Beach Volleyball Tournament, Escape From Alcatraz, and the San Jose Ballet.
Dr. Baker stays on the cutting edge of sports chiropractic treatment and diagnosis protocols. He is certified in Active Release Technique (ART), Graston Technique, RockTape Fascial Movement Taping, and TRX Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation. He plans to further his education by taking the following courses: Certified Chiropractic Extremity Practitioner (CCEP), Titelist Performance Institute (TPI), Functional Movement Systems (FMS), Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), and Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner (CCSP).
Dr. Baker specializes in treating athletes with acute pain, repetitive overuse injuries, postural syndromes, and movement dysfunctions. The best time to get treated is before pain and injury has occurred. Athletes should use early-onset fatigue and excessive soreness post-activity as opposed to pain and serious injury as better indicators for initiating treatment. The sports medicine paradigm is shifting towards this model, as more athletes are looking to improve their performance and minimize their risk of injuries by proactively receiving sports chiropractic care. Dr. Baker combines chiropractic adjustments, soft tissue release, class IV laser therapy, corrective exercise, and kinesiotaping to get his patients back to the sports and activities they enjoy as quickly as possible.
About Dennis Dunphy
Dennis has had a love of sports and health since he started hockey at the age of 5 in Buffalo, NY. Though he did not reach his goal of playing in the NHL, his love for health continued to grow. He attended Penn State University where he studied medical lab technology. He was a Corpsman in the Navy Reserve working in the VA hospital, giving him a background in Nursing. He did not realize at the time, just how much of his knowledge then would help him in the future.
He attended his best friend's wedding in California in 1997 and came to understand why people loved California. He returned to Buffalo to pack his bags and buy a one-way ticket to California 3 weeks later. While working various jobs, Dennis continued to go to the gym where someone asked him, "Why don't you become a trainer? You seem to know what you are doing." Dennis then looked into becoming a personal trainer and his career was born.
Dennis has been a personal trainer for 12 years. He has worked in a variety of gyms, but has always had his own business: Diamond Physique. As years have passed, Dennis has become even more aware of how intricate the body is and how important functional training is to keep the body working properly. Dennis has worked with a few different Chiropractors and Massage Therapists in the Bay area and loves teaching people how to keep the body healthy and functioning. Dennis looks forward to working with Premiere Spine and Sport.
Dennis takes continuing education classes every year to further his knowledge. Dennis has certifications in the following organizations:
- IFPA (International Fitness Professionals Association)
- NCEP (National College Exercise Professionals)
- FMS (Functional Movement Systems)
Dennis and his wife live in San Jose and love to travel enjoying sporting events along the way.
